Pacific Assault problem
 

Not sure if this is in the right forum, but...

I tried to install it and a file transfer error would pop up saying a, "catastrophic error" has occurred and would shut Install Wizard down.
Tried installing it a few times and the error would pop up on the first and second disc. The error was not consistent. Tried installing it on a different CDROM on teh same computer and it let me install all discs, but would pop up another error saying a file could not be found that was longer than the moitor was wide.
Now.. I have a GeForce4MX420 vid card and on the box it says the game doesn't supprt a GeForce4MX card. Not sure if the "420" is significant or not.
I'm just wondering if this file transfer error is because of the Vid card or a corrupt disc(s)?

That card IS NOT supported. You need to upgrade to at least a FX-5200 card. Don't know about the rest.

do not buy a 5200 card anyways. buy something better.

Have you tried a new ribbon cable?

Wont matter though, as like they have said MX cards are not supported as they do not fully support DirectX 8.1.
