the singleplayer and multiplayer demos

i have the second multiplayer demo and the single player demo.

now my problem i not gameplay. but i want to know did anyone experience unsually long stutters or halts during the beginning stage of the singleplayer demo? because i've noticed this in the multiplayer demo as well, except in the multiplayer demo is it still playable and more fun. since the stutter is only at the very beginning, and the stutter only lasts for about 3 seconds or so.

i want to know has this been fixed? i am planning on purchasing pacific assault lately, but if it's going to have 10 second stutters i dont think i should bother.

i have 2.4ghz
512mb ram
geforce 6800 128mb ram
directx 9.0c
on-board sound card.

how does it run for you guys?
and if possible, is there massive difference between the demo and full version?

imported_Grim_Reaper 12-25-2004 06:44 PM

wait a minute, you are talking about PA right? and the demos have high standards

germ 12-25-2004 06:48 PM

yes i am talking about the pacific assault demos.

i have very good system. capable of running most anything in my opinion. half life 2 runs fine on it.

imported_Grim_Reaper 12-25-2004 06:51 PM

well the lag is caused by the shitty game itself. many many people experienced it.

germ 12-25-2004 06:56 PM

oh. so should i buy it? i like the graphics and the ironsight is cool.

is there a good mods coming out? realism mods perhaps?

and is it just lag or stutter. i dont seem to have lag. just lots ofstuttering

imported_Grim_Reaper 12-25-2004 06:58 PM

actually, im helping with a Desert Storm mod for PA. i dont own the game but i donated a model. more info at http://alternation.mohfiles.com

germ 12-25-2004 08:32 PM

is it realistic?

i hope it stays away from run and gun and focuses on tactics and realism.

Let me give you a correct answer. :)

Some questions first though. With the second demo, do you get this "3 sec shutter" if you host a lan game? This could be confused as internet/server communication and not game "lag".

There is not a "massive" difference between the retail game and demos but yes the demos are not as polished as the retail game( Huge difference from the SP demo). I have the retail game and have about half the specs you have (except for ram). I dont experience this "shutter" you mention.

Dont forget to update drivers for your video and sound whenever having performance issues with a game, especially when your systems specs meet the recommended not the minimum.

oh. i played the 2nd multiplayer demo with the improvements, and i can be pretty sure in saying that the stutter is lag. because i tested it out just earlier. when the game roun started, i ran and all the sudden it stopped for a second then as i recovered the whole server started lagging. later it was gone though so yes i do think they probably removed the stutter.

but now after hearing such negative stuff about the game itself. i'm starting to doubt that i'd like it.

for those guys who hate this game. can you tell me what you didnt like?

Godsmack 12-26-2004 02:44 PM

I don't like how the enemy stands at a tree and you cant shoot them ... it will hit the tree oOo: don't matter it you aim at them it will hit the tree... I have a good computer and on some maps it laggs like a mother father...

what I did like was the new gun models ... the havoc thing.. and the graphics.. the sounds were so so.. some of them didn't work for me

but it be your money you want to spend 50 bucks on this go ahead .. but you might be disappointed
