Question for cr8ing online server?
 

Um yeah. Me, my cuzin and like few friends from cross the state are wanting to play on a map with just are selves and have no servers. so we try conencting to me from my computer. But they cant seem to find my IP nor my game name. And im through a Wireless Connection. I hear its my wireless thats preventing them to connect ot me or what not. so any help advice or w.e?

maybe have one of your other friends make the server, then everyone connect via xfire or something, just an idea

they can't find your IP? u need to give them ur IP and then they'll have it ;) if they still can't connect using IP connect, make sure all 3 of u are using the same versions and make sure ur not behind a router or you'll need to open up some ports.

Thats what i was sorta asking. Bc some ppl in my clan. []EG[]. Well are trying to figutre this out to. And i think i am on a router. Bc i well lets see..
My cable wire connects to a modem. and this modem has a antenna which sends my internet conenction to my wireless thingy.. Soo thats my problem. If i need to open ports. i do not know how to do that kinda thing. lol.. And i do not know how to find my IP. So yeah.. Neway i can talk to ne of yas on

try browsing your modem, and opening the NAT ports there

also might have to open the ports on your router too

First off go [url=http://www.whatismyipaddress.com/:53cf5]here[/url:53cf5] to find your IP Address. Now give your ip to your friends, start a non-dedicated game on your computer, and have your friends join by ip.

also try finding out if indeed ur behind a router, what kinda router, etc so you can go about learning what ports need to be opened and how.

Well, i believe i am behind a router. bc im trough a wireless conenction and my parents ahve to conenct by a network card..

open up the console while ingame and type clientinfo. it should give you the IP to your server.

i did that and under server it just says local host.

That wireless 'thing' is indeed your router.

You need to open the ports to allow traffic into your server - as at the moment all traffic is being blocked.
look in your manual to your router and you should be given an IP which will direct you to your webinterface for your router, this allows you to do a number of things including opening ports
you need to find something that will allow you to direct ports or such

Now visit http://www.mohadmin.com/kb/index.php?pa ... 2&id=4&c=3 and open all these ports.

umm ok i tried.. t\doubt i did it right.. had no manual bc my wireless is owned by my ISP.. and uh only add ports or open prots i could do was add ports to open or soemthing like that under my wireless firewall.. thats suppose to be off soo lol.. i bet i did it wrong hmm.. lol..
