how do you do diagonal text?

Do the text then free transform it and move it around...Free transform is under edit i believe

rotate it ... with the layer selected / edit / transform / rotate ( i think )

Just click the "show bounding box" box in your options tab at the top when you have your pointer selected and click on the corners.
