Do you think that Nvidia's use of multiple GPU's could be attempting to cover a proformance gap? It just seems that Nvidia seems to be pushing the dual GPU options rather hard. Is it a strive for the top of the game again, or is it an attempt to cover some sort of failings?

A little bit from column A, a little bit from column B...

Just bragging rights since they have it out and ati don't. Ati's been doing that kind of setup long before nvidia but not for mainstream customers, was always intended for rendering stations etc.

I like the fact they can basically get 2 cards in one though, multiple boards is something id rather not bother with. For one theyre too power hungry, big difference in power terms powering 2 cores instead of 2 complete boards. Just have to wait and see what ati do with their "multi vpu" setup.

Graphics cards only as good as the rest of your system, hexus.net done a review on a dual 6800ultra sli, not even the fastest current amd cpu could feed them quick enough to get all the performance out of them.
