my first try at mapping -> QUESTION

I'm working on my first map.

How do you set the player spawn point. In the guide I'm reading he says:

[quote:7e17b]Now for the playerstart. Right click in side the box in the top viewport. a menu should come up go to "info>player>start" then click. A little box should have appeared. This is where your player will spawn.[/quote:7e17b]

Huh? Click on what?

Could someone please clear this up for me? Possible with a screenshot?

Thanks

I think what he means by box is the box around your level. And the viewport I hope is self-explanatory.

BTW that's a total guess.

Mapping is fun. Its aways great to see another give it a try.

What you want to do is right click in a 2D view. A menu will popup with several options. Follow what was posted by navigating to info>player. Then select the type of spawn needed for your style of map. By style I mean TDM, OBJ, FFA, or SP.

This should help also:

anytime boss, anytime. as i may or may not have mentioned; use the two of their tuts in conjuncture. see what one has to say about types of mapping and then compare it to the others. sometimes one's works where the other's didn't (ie. loading screens)

I'll do that. cool:

Are there any other tutorial sites you guys know of? Anything that can help me out in mapping. Thanks freak:

those are the big 'user friendly' two. you can also use vondercrunch , the rjukan project and .map.com

also start an account at the modding theater (TMT)
