is my power supply going?
 

Over the last few days my computer had been shutting down for no reason, its like someone yanked the cord right out of the back. Connections are tight however. Its very irratic when it does it, sometimes it will do it when you first boot it and it will load for a few seconds then restart, other times it will do it after its been running for hours. Im suspecting my power supply. Anyone else agree with me?

It could be anything. When I was building a computer, I tried to turn it on and it stayed on for a few seconds and just shut off. Turned out being the processor wasn't getting cooled properly and would just shut itself down.

However I doubt it's the same case with your computer since you can still use your computer. I'd say ya it's probally the PS, but to make sure swamp it out with and extra if you have one lying around.

Sounds like your CPU is over heating, or your PSU is dying.

I would try to get you PC to the absolute minimum and work your way back up to see if something else is causing the problem. It would suck to get a new PS and still have the same issue.

I think il do it like with cars when I can't specify the problem, just run it till it goes. Will save you lots of money in the end. When one morning I go turn it on and nothing happens, problem solved.
