Questions

Just got my new machine (AMD64 3200+, ABIT N8F MB, 1G PC3200, and a 6800GT vid card) and I can't remember how to uncap the fps. I thought it was maxfps 300 but maxfps and max ann't valid commands. There is also a command that will turn the fps meter green. Thanks.

i think it's either :

set commaxpfs Xamount

or

seta commaxfps Xamount

com_maxfps [Insert Value]

Keep in mind, even with a high powered machine, that a higher value is not really what you want to shoot for.

What your telling you vid card to do is always try to render at that framerate. The bad part is that if you get on a map that is not "fps friendly" you will actually cause your machine to lag on it as its trying its best to push the limit up to what you have set it to. When it cant keep up it will cause a "fps lag spike".

Keeping it down to a respectable level in comparison to your PC specs is your best best and keep in mind that your eye really will not be able to see a diff from 100 fps to 300 fps....no human eye can.

Thank you Gen Death. I set it to 150 and it rocks. Constantly over 125 now.
