what virus is it

Akuma 04-14-2005 07:57 PM

There are some virii and trogans that the AV can't get rid of. WinTools is one of them. The only way to get rid of it is to reformat.

Bucknub 04-14-2005 08:02 PM

maybe a virus is doing that

Slap the internet in the face and tell it to get on the pill.

Before you run your scan, go ahead and close every program that you can. Run your scans in safe mode if possible. If that, too, fails then I think you can run it via command prompt before windows loads by using the CD.

That's the way Norton seems to be anyway.

It is always a good idea if scanning for virus's to turn off system restore. also be aware norton has a lot of probs with false readings. For example it removes a file in TS as a virus but it isnt.
If possible do an online scan as well as norton and NEVER totally rely on 1 AV prog
