Although I do appreciate his worth as a stealthily skilled and powerful geurilla tactitian, and a powerful symbolic human to the entire of Cuba..

..I have a sticker of him on my door...

newt. 04-27-2005 09:33 PM

more like a symbol for the entire world.

yea i got a sticker to, kinda weird tho cause he didn't really like capitalism all that much.

Ugh.....Dude was just a terrorist. Nothing special about him, might as well have been an Islamic extremist, or an IRA bomber.

(almost) x2. He was an idelogist, old school with Castro, firmly defender of communism and marxism. You (probably) don't want to live in a country that this guy had helped to create.

He wasn't an great tactician either. He found success in Cuba mostly because others like Castro did the tactical and organizational stuff for/with him. He failed in Angola and later got busted (and killed) in Bolivia.

I hope I hadn't bust your bubble on the concept of this guy. He was mythfied too much, thanks much for the yuppie movements of the 60s and that picture of him taken during a march.

Well atleast cuba has a low crime rate...

Short Hand 04-28-2005 08:18 AM

I don't think people made him a legend for what he did, but what he stood for and symbolizes. History would not remember him for nothing.

Along with low everything else. A low standard of living, low infant survival rates, etc.

That's way you never hear about boat people going to Cuba.
