Alienware vs Newegg

I picked out about the same items on newegg, making it so that it is most similar to the Aurora 5500. Newegg came out higher and I wasn't even done. That doesn't make much sense because I have always been told that Alienware is over-priced. So I guess they aren't if the newegg price is about $50-100 dollars more than a stock Aurora 5500. =\

alienware isnt overpriced, its just what many people think. when i first got my pc, i added up everything and it was over the price i paid. people just think they are overpriced.

I bet the show "24" is helping Alienwares sales

Well it is true, with an Alienware laptop, you have nuclear weapon capabilities built in!

Alienwares usually cost about $1000-2000 more than a build depending what you put in it.

KTOG 05-12-2005 07:07 PM

Don't buy stuff, save.

Exactly, Alienware is much MUCH more expensive as compared to building one then you think. You must be either doing SOMETHING wrong, or something because I have compared the two...I even threw in the Dell XPS Gen 4 and 5, along with Falcon PC's and VisionFX as well as IBUYPOWER.com....Best bet in terms of price is build on from newegg.com...I did and I am recieving my parts daily. ;) Great job to newegg.com/

Akuma 05-13-2005 04:33 AM

Umm... I'm not sure what you did Jin...
