Class Dissection Of Live Dog Outrages Parents, Students

Student: 'It Just Makes Me Sick...' A biology class lesson in Gunnison, Utah involving the dissection of a live dog has outraged some parents and students, according to a report. "I thought that it would be just really a good experience if they could see the digestive system in the living animal," Biology teacher Doug Bierregaard said. Biology teacher Doug Bjerregaard, who is a substitute teacher at Gunnison Valley High School, wanted his students to see how the digestive system of a dog worked. Bjerregaard made arrangements for his students to be a part of a dissection of a dog that was still alive. The dog was still alive, but the teacher said it was sedated before the dissection began. With the students watching, the sedated dog's digestive system was removed. "It just makes me sick and I don't think this should go on anywhere and nobody's learning from it," student Sierra Sears said. The teacher said the lesson would allow students to see the organs actually working. "I thought that it would be just really a good experience if they could see the digestive system in the living animal," Bierregaard said. The school's principal, Kirk Anderson, said notifications went to parents explaining the dog was going to be euthanized and that the experiment would be done with the dog's organs still functioning. The teacher is standing by his decision and calls it the ultimate educational experience. Principal Anderson said he supports the lesson and it will be allowed to continue because the students are learning. The dog used in the experiment was going to be euthanized despite the class project. Watch Local 6 News for more on this story. what the fuck asshole...lets sedated this fucking subsititute teacher and dissect his live digestive system after he eats a bowl of fuck yous.
ps what the fuck is a substitue teacher doing that shit for...they are supposed to sit there and hand out some busy worksheets |
Goddamnit how do people get away with this shit
|
wow thats aweful......how the hell did he get away with that...i mean the students doing it and all...thats terrible

1. The dog lived.
2. The dog was sedated. 3. The dog was about to be put to sleep. 4. it is a biology class. 5. What is so wrong about it ? we watch ER type shows with live surgery action all the time... I really see no problem, the teacher is being proactive and actaully teaching the kids. |

how bout we dont do it all. do you think any of them give a fuck about a figestive system...check it out in the textbook. I never disected shit in school. No frogs , nothing. most we ever did was in 5th grade put a bike pump in a cow heart to make it beat. I mean wtf...you want to see disection, take a trip down to the fucking mourge, same difference. |
in biology we disected
-worms -frogs -pig fetuses -watched a human corpse get done at a local mourge -a plant.. (weird i know). I don't see the problem, infact I found it very educational. |
It's a biology class.
PS: Get over it. |
I don't agree with that.
I don't think the problem is having the kids see that, rather the dog being alive during the process. If they want to do things like that on dogs, thats fine, but use a dog that has already been put down. There's no need to use a live dog. I would definitely have a problem with this if this happened in one of my classes. I don't think i've ever heard of a bioliogy class that uses live subjects. |
Haha, thats funny...
...our Science teacher just resigned (with 12 days of school left..) so we've had a sub for a while, and we're going to actually open up pigs and peer inside them within the next week. Im gonna puke.. |
