Sorry about this stupid question. But i hear all this talk about firewalls on a connection. Can some1 tell me what it does and if u take it down is it alot faster?. I have Windows 98se and would like to know how to take it down, if it makes your connect faster. Thanks http://www.alliedassault.com/ubb/smile.gif

think of the firewall in the car
its between the driver and the engine.
(yeah u have a stereo and steering wheel and other garbage mounted on it)
it protects the driver.

apply that to the computer firewall.
it protects your computer. (tries too http://www.alliedassault.com/ubb/biggrin.gif )
last time i checked windows98se doesnt come with a firewall... so if u have one its a 3rd party firewall .. and like all programs that run on your computer .. can be closed.
