help with this map.
Im making a map for a contest. It ends in like 2 or 3 days. The idea is to design a realistic screenshot. I need some opinions on what I have so far. Do I need to add some decals, more props, work on lighting? anything will help.
yes it is just a small portion of the map I am currently working on. I need some strong opinions on if it looks realistic or not. just give me some ideas and I will see what I can do. |
Looks good to me, it has an appropriate amount of detail to the buildings and the lighting is pretty good.
|
looks good , good luck in the contest
|
thanks. im gonna add some more props and some decals to break up the repeating textures.
|
add a bit of graffitti, if its supposed to be a realistic european town

anything else. or else this is final. |
Turn AA on and smooth out the rough edges..they're pretty noticable. Dont make the lighting so yellow.. add a hint of white, not too much though.
|
my computer crashes when I turn aa on. cry:
and the light is yellow-ish cause its a flame. and thats the color it really puts out. |
I betcha the guy who wins the contest has a $7,000 computer..
Yeah, but lights usually arent yellow everywhere. There is some white, then a hint of yellow on the outside...like this: |
only way to make the inner white is turn up the brightness on the light. and then it makes the map look like pee.
|
spread the light out on the wall a bit more and on the ground if you can
|
Question......whats the frame rate in that section? You don't want something that bogs down play. Looks sharp though.
|
The thing with light is you cant just "spread it" you have to adjust the brightness of the light as well the color. I wish you could just drag the ling to where you want it to go.
