I really dont see why all these Quran stories are making headlines. Even if soldiers flushed it down the toilet and kicked it around, why should anyone care, its a fuckin book ffs. People actually died protesting over this shit, how stupid are these people? You think any people over here give a shit for every flag and bible they burn? No, its a big yawn over here. Oh well, thats my $0.02. Im pissed that every time I change the channel for something to watch, another fresh story of this shit pops up nag:

The Muslims reveer the Koran as the words of God, thats why they kept it in such high regard. In a way I understand. I can imagine someone flushing something really important to me down a toilet or pissing on it. I'll be really pissed off and upset.

the quran is a sacred book to them, and we shouldn't disrespect em that way. Imagine if I flushed ur bible, etc down the toilet. At the very least, its abusing somebody elses property. At the most it is deliberately abusing something that is sacred to them. Im anything but religious, but if someobdy destroyed a torah in front of me, id be pretty danm mad.

Wow. The slant of this story is totally different from what I took from the General's press conference. He basically said that they cannot find any evidence of a Koran being flushed down the toilet by a guard. It did not happen! They did have an incident where one of the detainees tore pages out of his own Koran and flushed them. The other incidents, which are given top reporting in this story, were given as the only examples they could find of mishandling and that the guards involved had been disciplined. The focus of the statements by the General is that guards are taught to have the utmost respect for the book and that any mistreatment of it could cause violence among the prisoners or at the least cause a prisoner to be uncooperative. He said they are taught that most Muslims wash their hands before handling the book and that any contact by a non-muslim should be avoided, but that if it must be touched then it should be handled with respect. ....anyway, it seems that once again the press likes to sensationalize the negatives instead of the positives.

The press remind me of Beavis and Butthead. They can hear a whole speech by the President and their response is..."heh, heh, He said 'but', heh, heh".

Things are not always how they are supposed to be. Nothing is clear black and white, good and bad in this world. There are about a thousand different shades of gray in the middle...
