In the history books and WWII memoirs i've read many soldiers hated the carbine, they were mostly carried by weapons platoons, morter men, anti-tank personnel etc., some officers in rifle companies, most are quoted as saying they would throw there carbine in a ditch the first chance they had to get an M1 or Tommy..But ive never fired one in combat so I dont know for sure...
