I have a 1024 display on my computer, but when I try to set the resolution to that setting in MOH, it crashes! What can be done?

Just because you computer can handle your desktop at 1024, that does not mean your computer can render a complex game at that resolution.

Try taking it down a notch. If you want to keep that resolution try taking some of the other settings lower.

20 gig HD
ATI Radeon

could be that you are runing the specs too high...try putting everything to low res, then try using the higher res. If it works, put the res's back up little by little.
