Changing XP pro to XP home??

I currently have an illegal version of XP Pro Corp installed on my computer, as of today windows update has stopped me from being able to update my version of windows, i've tried ways around it without any success.

My options are to:
- obtain updates 'elsewhere'
- Format and install a diff version or my legit xp home
- Convert my current version to home.

Is there a way to convert it to home so i can use my original serial??

It's already been cracked...
post here or pm me for link -tony

I suggest you look into that rather than reinstalling windows.

Windows updates are useless anyway.

I've already tried this, it autoinstalled that file, but when i click on express or custom now it says:

Checking for the latest updates for your computer...

then goes to a screen saying

[quote:a9d55]guys, no more PMs regarding this please

I'm only repeating stuff i heard in the news. I DO NOT know where to get a copy of the keygen.

however, i seen 2 method to easily get around the validation thing. i have only tried the 1st one since it's much easier and it seems to work flawlessly at the moment.

1. in Internet Explorer,
Go to Tools-> Internet Options-> Programs-> Manage Add-ons...-> click on "Windows Genuine Advantage" and choose "Disable"

Now Windows Update will not check anymore

this method is PUT IN PLACE BY MICROSOFT but i doubt it'll last long. so I dont think it's really a "security breach" or anything illegal.

2. you type a java script code. this seems a little too complicated so i think the mods might think of it as a work-around or something. so just stick wiht the first one.

again i only tested the first 1 and it works.

good luck[/quote:a9d55]its on microsofts website so i can post this, and it works.
