Found a Camera
 

I found an old camera in my garage. Still in its leather case. It is an old SLR. The only thing that is wrong with it (that I have found) is the reflector on the inside has a lot of mold on it. as does the view finder. I think some of the parts need some cleaning. Other than that its in great condition. Would anyone here know hoe much it would cost to get the thing restored? I am looking at using it as my personal camera.

Take it to a camera repair shop and get an estimate.


Mostly likely it'll be more cost effective to get a new SLR or a Digital SLR.

yup, especially if the shutter is in bad shape. probably not what you wanted to hear but yeah ... you can probably get a decent slr for around 150 bucks.

: taking it to a camera shop is probably a good idea also ... they might be able to hook you up for less than the cost of a new cam.

hmm thanks. Ill take it by boyscouts tomorrow and get the camera guru to estimate it. then drop it off by Wolf Camera on tuesday. im good friends with the camera reapair man at wolf so i may be able to get a deal.

Last camera I had cleaned at a camera shop cost about a fourth of the cost of a new camera.
