Intel® Pentium® M Processor
K, I will be purchasing a laptop in the upcoming weeks, and I've seen a lot of these Intel Pentium M processors. Is it worth spending the money on this? Will I get better performance out of them? Any info would be appreciated.
I'm looking at either IBM or Dell for the laptop |
I have nothing to offer...Im just waiting for Gerv and Akuma.

I bought my dad a Dell Inspiron 6000 for his birthday, I forget the spec, it was like a 1.5GHz. the only thing i didnt like about it was the integrated video card.
but still a nice computer, i loved taking a shit and surfing the net biggrin: edit: and the price is nice too (dell) |
Yes, P-Ms are slightly faster than A64s clock for clock.
Meaning a 1.6ghz PM is approx a 2.8ghz P4. Except with MUCH lower heat output and power useage which are extremely important in a laptop. P-M perform similarly to A64 Turions but but put out more heat and drain your battery faster. P-M is THE cpu to get for a laptop. IMB makes solid laptops but they are overpriced and slow. |
tony i would custom build my labtop and try out the new AMD procesors out there. you'll spend less money and wisely.
