another problem with bf2 (most likley hardware related)

Everytime I disconnect from a game and Im in the in game menu, my game freezes, screen goes blank, and weird colours appear. sometimes it will come back and I can click on things, and sometimes it wont and I have to hit the reset button.

When the screen (if) comes back on and im able to click things, I can exit BF2, and then I see some ATI VPU recovery error or something and asks me to send the error report into ATI, I just say no.

what do think is happening? is my card overheating? if it is, why does it just do this when Im done BF2 and not during?

Ive done a fresh install of the game too and reinstalled the patch. maybe the drivers? im using the 5.8 drivers as of now.

thanks

I DID OC my card on my old computer before, but I uninstalled ATI tool and stuff, I dont know if u kept the OC settings on the card, and if it did, is the card itself still OCed even after putting it in a new Mobo?

Akuma 10-05-2005 04:05 PM

No, it won't keep the OC.

Not sure what the problem it though.

Bucknub 10-05-2005 04:06 PM

possibly AGP settings in the BIOS?

oh and Fast write is enabled on my Card, would that might be the problem?

Akuma 10-05-2005 04:34 PM

Could be, fastwrites gives some poeple problems.

Try turning it off.

Bucknub 10-05-2005 05:31 PM

and Should I have AGP 3.0 Calibration Cycle enabled in my BIOS , would that improve anything?

Akuma 10-05-2005 05:48 PM

I'm not sure what that does, try it I guess, can't hurt.

Bucknub 10-05-2005 05:55 PM

ok, wel I enabled agp 3.0, didnt notice anything, and I disabled fast write, and I think thats what fixed it, it doesnt do it anymore.
