Audigy 2 ZS worth it...(good deal)

I have a freind offering me an Audigy 2 ZS (not a value version) for 45 $ CAD... NOW my question is is it worth it ? I am currently using the onboard N-force 2 sound.... & I have a hercules Fortissimo III 7.1 card laying around, although it does not properly support 7.1..... Which option should i use ? Gervy.. Akuma ?

I have it and it's great.

You'll appreciate it if you're an audiophile.

Still, it is no comparision to the X-Fi core...... I have been drooling about it for months.. it has 25x the processing power of the E-mu built core in the audigy.. not to mention the tech is 7 years old to date... + the 24 bit SRC conversion problems and all.. Are the drivers as messy as the older audigy series cards ?

ZS series is the only creative product in existance with decent drivers. X-Fi drivers are worse than the old days of creative.

ZS will give you better sound quality than the low end X-Fi. Only when you get to the $200+ models do you start to hear a difference.

Edit: of course it's pointless if you don't have good speakers/headphones

im running t7700 7.1's, my fortissimo 3 seems to bev 7.1, but NOT the same 7.1 standard seen on the speakers, the sound card has 4 holes, while the speakers only give 3 analog wire for connection, with the rear and sides being on the same wire..
