This is more of a website question.

Would there be any problem putting a phpbb forum in my website?
lasamericasherald.com?

I asked my webdesigner to put it, but he said some thing about asp and layers and I really didn't understand. Basically he said he couldn't.

I thought this topic was relevant to my question.

So was the guy lying and unable to do anything decent or what? I notice while checking the code to the site that a lot of stuff is just free codes of bravenet, will this come back and bite me? I feel like the guy has no idea of what he's doing specially for the money he's charging me.

for most forums (phpbb/invision etc) you will need a mysql database and php on the server.

If your host doesnt have both of these i'd advise you to change your host. Most webhosts offer at least 1 mysql database and php enabled in their most basic package.

as Poseidon you need a mysql database and access to it. you need hostname, passwords, logins, and unless you pay for this i doubt you can host it.

asp has nothing to do with phpbb. i dont know how well itd blend with the layout you currently have ... probably like shit id imagine. that might be what he was refering to ( asp ). otherwise, there shouldnt be a problem with you using asp and php at the same time.
