What's the deal been lately with the mega influx of video games into mainstream pop culture? All of a sudden MTV is having gaming week and so is Spike TV. It also seems that every musician and actor is a huge gaming fan or something? CPL has been around for years and so has video gaming on this huge of a scale, and now it's getting recognition.

A conspiracy exists in CAL Invite. I know that. oOo:

Milla is actually right. IT's already starting to happen. 50 cent with his own videogame...? The videogame community was better when we were "underground". You have your major sponsors, like Intel/AMD/Bawls/etc... now it's going to get too mainstream with cola drinks, cars, food places,etc....

You can also blatently tell that the entertainers on TV are just tools. The Rock saying how awesome and huge a video game fan he is...Samuel L Jackson talking about how cool he is for playing video games etc... IT's all just a fake.

What's also funny, is that this media blitz has only been focusing on lan events really. There's TONS of way better gamers, but honestly they can't afford to go to these big ass lan events.

All I'm really saying is that it's better when it was a small knit community of gamers, and not a bunch of pop icon whores who go " OMG I JUST PICKED UP THIS GAME AND I'M SO GOOD AT IT".

So very true. Not only is it that way, but some players don't even compete in the high ranked areas like CAL-i or even CAL-m. For example, fz|Azrael - the most swift player I have pretty much ever seen play. Incredibly good and he's not too involved with high competitions.

Its funny how abit for example market fatality as "the worlds best gamer". I guess since he plays nothing but fps game hes obviously gonna be dominant in snorefests like world of warcraft. oOo:

Id love to see him try playing streetfighter against some of those psycho asian players, biggrin:
