My new phone
 

I was checking out slickdeals.net the other day and i came across this:

I manage the mobile phone fleet for the company i work for. we deal almost exclusively with cingular, so after i get it in the mail and port my cell number to it, i will be able to join the corporate sponsorship account at my work and get 30% off cingular equipt and 20% off of service charges. anyways, its also a free phone after the rebate. half of the employees have the older model blackberries - these are really cool toys. you can manage your email on it, browse the internet and use it as a phone. it has a bunch of other functions on it, but the best part is that i may not have to pay for the service either. i dont have a blackberry, but im a telecom manager who sets up all our new users on these things and i do tech support and troubleshooting for them if they have problems. since i didnt have a bberry before, i was not connected to our blackberry server. my manager might let me hook up to it now that i have one and that means the company will take over my account (company emails are not allowed on private devices per SEC policy) and will resume all financial responsibility for it. even better than that is that my company does not have contracts with cingular, so in the event that i ever leave the company, i will get my account back but without a contract.

anyways, this made my day and i thought i would share.

holy shit, nice..although i would feel awkward using a blackberry as a phone.

i swear there has been a thread for every purchase of someones new mobile phone, but as if that was bad enough this is one of the most horrid pieces of electronic hardware i have seen.
