ok, ive been trying this out lately,

KEEP IN MIND THAT THIS ISNT COMPLETED YET

what do you think I should/could fix or add?

when you make a shape to represent a shadow or highlight, change the opacity so that it looks natural. for example, if you turn the opacity of the shadows under your chin down, it will look much more realistic.

and redo the nose and lips.

you also dont have to be so literal with color ... or in some cases you dont have to use any "tone" at all to express a shape ( ie the nose in the above ).

yeah, you don't really need to draw an actual nose shape, it will probably look better if you just make the shadows and highlights of the nose and the surrounding area.

for a good reference use the posterise filter, then base your vector off of that.

yeah, that helps with shading sometimes, but it also makes it hard to maintain some of the details that were in the original image.

Dont we have a tutorial sticky ??? To be honest, learning from a prof threw lecturing and 1 on 1 makes it waayyy easier.

vectoring is simple, just understand the pen tool enough and understand what details you use and its done, c132 posted the simple tuts from deviantart which are enough.

my last vector which i done like more than a year ago.
