Burning downloaded media to DVD format

Right now im watching the season 5 of the sopranos to get caught up for the upcoming season 6. In the past iv always used nero to burn dvd's but it takes forever to encode them. What I really need is something to encode the video so it will play in a DVD player. Ideas? I know their are better ways.

its going to take a while to encode no matter what you use ... nero does a fine job. let that shit run over night or while you are out killing animals.

If you want to "make a backup" of a DVD use this:

http://www.dvdidle.com/dvd-fab-platinum.htm

If you want to encode media to DVD format use this:

http://www.vso-software.fr/products/con ... to_dvd.php

Second works very well and is not very time consuming compared to Nero.

Hope this helps.

Most files I download come in 350mb (for 1 hour) xvid format. I never actully have a hard copy to burn from.

The vso software would be the choice then. I have reencoded xvid movies with this and it works very well
