Motorist gets owned by his BMW

http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/england/4796264.stm

funny thing is he was totally unharmed!

m00nraker 03-11-2006 06:50 AM

Why wouldnt he just shut the car off? oOo:

Sergeant_Scrotum 03-11-2006 07:51 AM

Im sorry but I can think of so many ways to stop the car. But simply just kill the ignition.

Arkan 03-11-2006 08:51 AM

Guy is a retard. Simply turn ignition off but don't turn the key back all the way rendering the steering wheel useless.

Perhaps putting car in neutral is another option or manually down shifting to a lower gear.
Some people really need to know their cars..

well..sometimes when bad situations happen...you forget what you know and panic.

Arkan 03-11-2006 09:32 PM

Think about it. What are the chances your car accelerator getting stuck AND you can't get it out of gear!! Something is wrong with this story.

btw misc, i can read very well. Thanks for caring.

what are the chances of the accelerator getting stuck, the gears jamming, AND the brakes failing? eek:

Sergeant_Scrotum 03-11-2006 11:42 PM

well, if you hold the brakes on when a car is wide open they will overheat and just fade. Try making 3 or 4 hard stops (not locking the tires up but just appling them hard from like 80kmh) and see how well they work on the third time compared to the first. Thats called brake fadding where the rotor and pads overheat and will emit a gas which will prevent the rotor and pad from making full contact with each other. This is why drilled and slotted rotors are so popular for racing use, the holes alow the gas to escape and the slots scrape off the overheated material. Anyways thats you lecture for tonight :p
