To me, its kinda getting irritating how certain things are being taken to seriously. I mean, its bad that the lacrosee players (might have) raped a girl, but morbid jokes and friendly bashing are being turned into threats by the media, and it is kinda pissing me off. I'm not protecting the players, i'm just saying that the media is making too much out of nothing (especially by casually mentioning the last quote).

I've been following the case pretty closely because a friend of mine has a brother on the team.

I have several issues with the way the media and police have handled the case. First of all, the whole team was not present at the party where the alleged crime took place. As a matter of fact a number of players were out of state interviewing for jobs in New York. That didn't stop the cops from requiring all 46 white players, whether they were present at the party or not, to submit a DNA sample. If the colors were reversed, you can bet your ass the NAACP would be up in arms that people were subjected to DNA testing simply based on the color of their skin even if they were known not to be involved. That is total horse shit and many think not even legal.

Speaking of the NAACP, they feel the need to get involved to make sure the case is prosecuted with diligence just because a black female was involved and the Duke players aren't talking. Well, what I want to know is why the NAACP doesn't get involved when everyday crime is perpetrated in the black community and its perfectly acceptable for memebers of the community to walk around with Stop Snitching t-shirts on. That's not to say that all blacks buy into it, but I've heard of no effort by these black leaders to stem what appears to be a growing movement in the hood.

Another thing that ticks me off is that they NAACP say that the strippers past shouldn't be brought up in this case. Might that be because she was convicted of stealing another of her customer's car, leading police on a chase, and then attempting to run down a cop when she was cornered. I think it speaks to her character and might be relevant. This is especially true since the newspaper has printed the records of 15 of the players with such extreme infractions as urinating in public, noise violations, and open containers.

As far as I'm concerned, if any of the players are found guilty, then they should be locked up. No question. But, I think its ridiculous to crucify the players in the media for something that no one has been charged with. People file false reports all the time and I'm sure the girl was ticked when they called her the N word for not dancing for 2 hours like they paid her to do. I'm not sure how the injuries occured, but I might be willing to injure myself to set someone up, especially if I thought I could get money out of them.

why are you bashing the naacp? The majority of people around the nation feel that this chicks crim records shouldn't be brought up. It's not relevant at all. The girl got raped by a gang of boys, RAPED!!!!. They left her damn fingernails on the floor for goodness sake. Do you really believe that she went throught all of this for some money? Haha. I'm sure she makes enough money to support an entire family for a couple of years.

You think if you went out and raped a chick that they'd bring up her crim history, or yours? Which would be more scrutinized by investigators? Yeah, exactly. Just think of how her family feels when they hear that their daughter's crim record is being reviewed.. how would you feel if that were your daughter or sis and you heard that bs being brought to you?

The girl was allegedly raped. There is a big difference. No one has been charged with anything. She has not identified anyone other than to say 3 white guys. Based solely on her statement that 3 white guys raped her, the newspapers have printed the "criminal" or not so criminal history of 15 people based solely on their association with the team. Who knows if these these 15 guys were even at the party.

Her record is extremely relevant. There are no witnesses. She says it happened and all the party goers say nothing happened. The fact that she stole a dude's car, evading the cops, and tried to run one down makes her not the most credible person in the world. It doesn't mean that she deserves to be raped, but there are more upstanding people in the world is all.

How would you feel if you were at your company's Xmas party, or didn't attend for that matter, some chick is allegedly raped at the party by 3 black dudes, and the cops round you up and all the other black guys who work for the company, whether they were at the party or not, and say you'll be arrested if you don't submit to a DNA test. I can tell you that I'd be pissed.

here's how past records can affect a case, remember the lady who put a finger in her chili at wendy's? they looked in her record, found she had sued multiple restaurants for similar incidents, she got busted. History has tons to do with court cases, it would be naive to say that it was unfair to bring up her history, it happens everyday in courts everywhere.

i believe she was raped. Imo she has no reason to lie (especially, for money) and the email is crazy. "im gonna skin her bones" or some shit, wtf? Now i know that it's entirely possible for the guy who wrote the email to just be entertaining his buddies BUT, when something actually ends up happening at the party and a girl says that some guys raped her and investigators find her fingernails on the bathroom floor!!.. c'mon playa', what are the odds?

I'd feel 'normal' if some cops came up to me and asked for my dna sample for a chick that got raped at a party that i didn't even attend. My friends were there so i'd suspect that one of them may have told one of the cops that i was there or maybe it's just the investigators job to probe all of those who were 'thought' to have been involved


Police took DNA samples with a cheek swab from 46 of the lacrosse team's 47 players last week. The 47th player, the only black member of the team, did not have to provide DNA because the dancer said her attackers were white. The dancer is black

Clearly you haven't followed the case. The e-mail was sent after the alleged rape. The kid said that he was pissed because the strippers danced for 3 minutes and tryed to take off with their money. Fucked up nonetheless, but at least get you facts straight.

Yeah, shit surfaces everyday. I'm just pissed because my buddy's bro is getting spit on and yelled at just because he's on the team. I'm just of the opinion that they should investigate fairly and not find these guys guilty in the media. That's all.
