Alliedassault - All quiet at the western front!

Rumours out that EA will deliver a guide in the 4th. quarter of 2003 that describes in detail how to host a dedicated server through command lines.

It will be in 600 pages and will be out 3 months before UK and 6 months before the rest of the world. There will be small irregularities, so don't expect a CFG file in US to be compatible with the UK/EU version.

We can, however, tell you, that you must have the original CD in your CD drive (it must be a Plextor or Philips drive and not below 12x speed) and there will be an inactivity check (default 600 seconds) to check that the CD is in the drive when playing (that should explain the small occurence of lag every 10 minutes when playing). About 6420 UDP and IP ports must be open if you're behind firewalls, these won't be documented though, but are available in Croation at http://www.ea.cr/server/guide/404.html

Private Password will be supported in a later version, probably the african version scheduled june 2004!
