The idea of skydiving is exciting, but not being able to see the ground when you jump from where ever you are solely because you are so high up...
Ive read some other articles about his jump and some credit him as being the first man in space, and some as being the first to break the sound barrier.

i had no idea a person could sky dive that fast, do you know if he was wearing some sort of special equipment to speed him up?

no. He had a space suit and a parachute on and fell. He went so fast because there was very little drag due to no air up there.
