Age of Empires III

I am looking for those people who have it to help me out.

Is it worth the $50? How is it compared to the old ones? How is it compared to Rome:Total War for those who have played it?

I have Rome:Total War and love it but have always been more of a fan to the AOE games.

beer:

ha, sorry,im keeping it until i get vista or xp biggrin: have you tried rise of nations? that game is awesome, but the only bad part is that the map editor sucks and doesnt compare to AOE's. i havent tried Rome: total war. with RON you can select alot more units in your army and have a population limit of 200. there are also alot of unit and civ bonuses throughout the map that make the game more interesting. i play that game all day long. it runs from ancient times to present and has over 20 civs.

Madmartagen 06-09-2006 03:57 PM

Rise of Legends

Rise of Legends is awesome. It works differently than RoN in the way you gather resources, but it's not hard to figure out. The singleplayer has a campaing with a storyline to it that was much more interesting than RoN. The three different races specialize in 3 different areas so their buildings and units all look different.

....No one has AOEIII here? I am really looking for some ideas.

I looked at screenshots and they look awesome but it didn't seem like there was much battling.

No I don't own it, but I played the game at some PC place, and then at a friend's.. Fucking awesome game. Alot more too it than just the fancy graphics... If you liked AoE II, then you'll definetly like this.

It's an awesome game you should try it.

Cool Fool 06-12-2006 12:03 AM

yeah im thinking about rise of lengends or AOE 3...which one to get?

Short Hand 06-12-2006 12:12 AM

Resource gathering system is rediculous.. TAKES FOREVER to gain anything, and in the higher end of the economy it almost piles in to fast. IT gets repetitive online and has nothing to revolutionary to offer, Single player campeign is also luclaster. COULD have been so much more, but it failed. Home city idea was great, but this concept would work better with an mmorts.

-Your best bet is Age Of Mythology, it takes a long time to really get good online since so many players are insane, BUT the gameplay is much more innovative, and the single player is ahead . Graphics are still onpar as well.

Does it still have the 200 population limit?

And Short, are you talking about AOEIII?
