to bring up the console you have to push the ~ key but when i push it in the game nothing happens... can som ody tell me why

You know, when you FIRST start the game, you can go to Options, New Game, Load game, multiplayer, etc. Go to options, then advanced (at the top) and then make sure the console is checked.
Then in the game if you press the "~" key and the console will come up instead of the chat window.
