Wow, i may pull the trigger on this......

Been itchin' to get a car for sometime now and the dream of the '07 Shelby is fading away. The owner of the dealership i'm using wants to keep all the cars for his personal collection. The VP and salesmen are left scratching their heads and dealing with a few pissed off customers because the owner wants to play Trump with his cash. Anywho, i'm the only one left that still has a deposit in place but i may bail out because this came along.

This is something i always wanted to own and i came across this one for sale. The price is right and i'll know in a few days if i'll pull the trigger on it. Damn, i'm nervous.

What do you think of the finished product?

Ok, i'll give you a quick history of the car. Pictured is a 1965 Cobra Daytona Coupe replica. They only made 6 original cars ever so....owning an original is out of the question unless you had a few million dollars and could find a seller willing to part with one. Carroll Shelby built these cars to compete against Enzo Ferrari for the world cup. Shelby beat Ferrari in 1965 with the coupes and brought home the championship.

The 1st pic shows the actual car thats for sale. I'll need to finish building it and have it painted. It's set up for a Ford small block and tremec transmission. It comes with a 9" rear and disc brakes all around. I'm thinking it'll take me between 12 - 18 months to complete the build. Once done, i'll have a lil' piece of Ford racing history in the garage.

Can't wait to go get ice cream in that thing.

I'll be building the car myself of course! We worked out a tentative price of $16,500. The whole thing will probably end up costing me between 35 - 40k when all is said and done.

rock: buy it...

Pyro 07-07-2006 02:04 PM

I say go for it...especially if you've always wanted to do it...if I get rich...ill buy ya an original one.

Doctor Duffy 07-07-2006 02:06 PM

Do you even plan on driving it to work and stuff? I hate people who buy cars just to buy them, and keep them in their garages for the next 40 years of their life.
