it's unfortunate that BF2142 will be based on the same engine annoy: and wont have explosions that look like that.

Becuase they're full of shit.

Most of that IS gameplay footage they just added some effects to it afterwards to make the explosions look better and added the shimmering effect to the rotors and the jets engines.

The blackhawk has rocket pods which got removed, funny thing is if you look at the back of the bf2 box theres a screenshot showing the blackhawk with those pods on it. oOo:
