4.1 Million Dell batteries recalled

So far we have checked 4 batteries at work, 3 of which are listed to be replaced. We have hundreds of Dell laptops at work, for me to now check and replace batteries. Its going to be a huge blow for Dell, as its the biggest recall in history.

Dells arnt actually that bad, especially on lease for business's.

yeah its my job too, however i was planning on recalling all laptops anyway within the next week or so, to service all laptops on site, so it shouldnt be that bad. However i've just ordered 3 and they have said to allow 20 days for delivery. WTF! We have people in the company that can't be without their laptops for a day, never mind 3 weeks!

in most cases with dell returns, they send out the battery 1st and then you send back the old one. so you will always have a battery

yeah but the problem is, I know the chances are very low, but if something simular occurs before the replacement battery arrives in 3 weeks time, and we know about the problem already and have allowed the users to continue using the laptops, then we're fucked!
