17inch widescreen laptop too big for college?
I bought a 17' inch laptop monitor (inspiron E1705) and it is far far bigger than I expected. Would I look stupid if I carried it around to class and lectures? I bought it for games and movies as well as studying. Should I get a smaller one like a 15 inch monitor? cause this one feels lts gonna be heavy to carry around.

a 17" laptop is for use as a desktop replacement, not something you are chugging around to class.
i would look at a 14" screen. even 15 " would be to big http://www.dell.com/content/products/pr ... =dhs&cs=19 |
Yeah I bought a 17" to replace my desktop.

Is there a small laptop I can buy that is also good for gaming? I looked through the Dell Catalog and only the model i have can hold a Geforce 7900. I checked the E1505 (15 inch) and it has the Ati Radeon X1400 which isn't as good.

i doubt it, gaming nb's are gonna be beefy w a big screen andd not very functional to carry around

Dell XPS Laptops..that's if your willing to waste all your money on a gaming laptop. oOo:

laptops aren't worth dragging to class to take notes on or anything. The good ol' notebook and pen is the best thing to do. If I ever bring my laptop with me, it's inbetween classes when I can work on a paper or something. Even then, you can go to a writing lab and work on one of those computers.

I might leave this laptop in my dorm and just rent one from my college or get a crappy one from my uncle just for taking notes in classes. Then I can just transfer it on to my mother laptop. It seems a bit of a hassle to do it though.

i dont get why you think size matters ... 17" isnt really all that big if you ask me.

How big were you expecting it to be?[/quote:58088] lol, I was asking myself the same thing. It's not as if laptops come in small, medium and large. |
