your completely wrong. This game kicks day of defeat's but in gameplay and visuals. Day of Defeat is half aracadish and half tactial shooter but Resistance and Liberation is 100% in realism and tactial shooter. Fine dont take my word for it but you dont know what your missing out on. |

Looks boring, and more like Call of Duty.
|
Realism only stands for a very balanced gameplay.
i just bought HL2 to download this Mod and Insurgency, Hope it is releasing. |
looks fucking gay

Trailer was pretty nice, but fact of the matter is games based totally on realism usually have a very small community. Play red orchastra and you'll see that all smg users do is hold down the fire button and randomly run about spraying to get kills in the majority of servers..not that it has many servers to begin with. The gameplay can get frustrating with camping being the main "tactic" employed and it usually gets old and boring pretty quick.
It'll just be another face in the crowd of mods that could have reached out to a far larger community. |
another factor against it is it still isnt out so dead and buried.
maybe if this was out before they got dod source out people would give it a chance, but too late, |

The only reason you're bitching about camping and it being boring is probably because you're just not very good at the game. I don't know any of the great players who ever camp, unless they have the sniper rifle and have to defend a cap zone. Even the defending team can't afford to camp because most of the maps work in a way that once you cap a certain number of cap zones, you can't cap it back, so it's important that you defend the front lines. |

How many players does Ro even have? According to gamespy around 239 servers and 1015 players, in other words a very small and niche community for a mod that could have been more popular if it had been more arcade oriented. Then again theres that many ww2 games and mods Ro just came onto the scene far too late to have any big impact regardless of its gameplay style. |
As a modder myself (Modern Warfare Mohaa), you dont have shit until you release the mod... How many mods looked good that we never heard from again? Its a matter of them releasing this in a timely fashion or you lose interest and bigger and better things will be by. Im not saying anything until i see a hard copy of this released.

And who cares how many people play a certain game? There's about 30 active clans who play RO. I judge a game's popularity by the number of active clans who play a lot of matches. MOHAA used to have tons of active clans. Now there's only 5, maybe. MOHAA is well past being dead. Call of Duty only has about 4 active clans on TWL's 6 v 6. It's dead. All of the RO clans use their own ladder, roladder.net. There's at least 5 matches PER NIGHT on that ladder. RO may have a small community, but that community is very active and involved. Here's the matches from the past few days: 26 Feb 2007 21:00 CET 26 Feb 2007 21:00 CET 25 Feb 2007 21h00 CET 25 Feb 2007 21:00 CET 25 Feb 2007 20:00 CET 25 Feb 2007 21:00 CET 25 Feb 2007 20:00 CET 25 Feb 2007 21:00 CET 25 Feb 2007 20:00 CET 25 Feb 2007 21:00 CET 25 Feb 2007 23:00 CET 24 Feb 2007 21:00 CET 24 Feb 2007 08:00 EST 24 Feb 2007 10:00 EST 22 Feb 2007 21:00 CET 22 Feb 2007 21:00 CET 21 Feb 2007 21:00 CET 21 Feb 2007 21:00 CET 21 Feb 2007 10:00 EST 21 Feb 2007 09:30 EST 20 Feb 2007 10:00 EST 20 Feb 2007 10:00 EST I'd say that's pretty damn impressive for a game with only 30 real clans. And 1000 people playing at any given time is well more than enough IMO. I don't give a shit if people don't want to play realism. That's simply not the case anyway (America's Army has 8 million users), but I don't give a fuck what anybody else wants to play. RO's competitive play isn't going to die anytime soon, and that's really all I care about. My MOHAA clan moved on because the competitive play died. It eventually happens with every game, but RO has survived longer than most would have thought. The game has actually been around for several years (back when it was a mod for UT as opposed to a stand-alone game). Fuck it, I like RO, it's a leet game, and it's the most fun I've had playing a game since MOHAA and AA. |
