haliburton contractor who was allegedlly abandoned by his US convoy..

Vance 09-30-2006 07:29 AM

In the middle of a firefight it's hard to make a sound decision, it's something only the best can do. I'm not sure what I would have done (as the driver of that Humvee). In hindsight, a probable option would have been to back up, and tell the truck driver to haul ass and jump in the back of the HV. But hindsight is 20/20...

Mr.Buttocks 09-30-2006 07:30 AM

I hope he gets killed next time.

geRV 09-30-2006 08:53 AM

Wow he got fired as well, wtf. Left on his own for near 40 minutes, takes 2 ak rounds and gets fired. oOo: oOo:

Sirus 09-30-2006 09:04 AM

thats awful, but If I was a contractor I would of def taken a gun with me

They might not be allowed sidearms.

bukdez 09-30-2006 11:30 AM

pretty fucked up, but to be a contractor in a warzone is kinda dumb and kinda fishing for blood money, no?...

i say let the soldiers do their job, bring in the contractors later...

No way I go in there without something with me. If I'd have to sneak it in, then so be it. You might get fired for doing that, but I'll take living over having a job.

P.S. I know a guy who is a contractor over there. Makes really good money doing it. It's a risk job these guys decide to make.

the dude wasn't "abandoned" his vehicle was disabled and the military troops escorting the convoy had to keep moving on to make sure that the surviving vehicles got out of the ambush. its common sense, when your ambushed...you do what you have to, to get out of the kill zone....not going back into it.

Then I suppose the soldiers who did what they did in Mogadishu did a horrible job. oOo:

yeah thats some clever wording for "abandoning"...

whether its the right thing to do or not, thats still the appropriate word to describe the situation...

Bukdez is right. As shitty as that guy felt, the convoy needed to go on.
