bf2142 anyone?

I played the demo and was very happy. I'm just wondering what you guys think, cause I might get a server for it ... but I'm thinking maybe just BF2 or BF 2142.

buckub, you didn't like it at all - lol

Well, I'm not getting the server anytime soon, maybe in like a month. I don't like the fact that is like $50 and in case you did not know the game comes with malaware. Supposebly an ad agency gets all sort of information while you are in game.

i found it to be the same ol' shit bf2 had but just reskinned

Lot of ranting going on about the in game ads in this thing.

[quote:91b94]When you open the box, a big slip of paper falls out first, preceeding any discs or manuals. The slip of paper says, essentially, that 2142 includes monitoring software which runs while your computer is online, and records "anonymous" information like your IP address, surfing habits (probably via cookie scans), and other "computing habits" in order to report this information back to ad companies and ad servers, which generates in-game ads.

Now, I can live with certain in-game ads (though apparently there will be Dodge truck and Neon ads in the bleak, futuristic world of 2142), but including a lengthy description - outside of even the Eula - seems to indicate even EA knows that this is some shady borderline spyware shit. I don't support it and won't be buying 2142 (for a host of other reasons, too).

fuckin gay ass shit

geRV 10-17-2006 02:42 PM

And the one amazing thing about the demo? Ea "fixed" the bug which caused people to get disconnected from the master server and the funny thing is i was just playing the demo and over half the people on the server (64 player conquest) got disconnected from the server by the bug. oOo:

These retards can't even fix bugs in their own game engine and they expect people to allow spyware on their system? If its ea supported spyware it'll probably end up corrupting windows files or have some other amazing "feature". sleeping: plzdie:

thats a load of crap

Oh yeah breaking news:

[quote:024c5]EA has released the Battlefield 2142 v1.01 patch today. This is a must download for anyone who has purchased the game not using the EA downloader. If you purchased the game through the EA downloader, you do not need this patch as you already have it.

[/quote:024c5]

The fucking games not even out and theyre already issuing patches, can anyone say "rushed the fuck out the door"?
