GG sony.

Zoner 10-30-2006 02:47 PM

They'll make that back easily.

TGB! 10-30-2006 02:49 PM

Nevermind that theyve been sayin since JUMP that they were going to lose money on the PS3.

Shit Im sure the lost money on the PS2/PSX as well.

Sgt>Stackem 10-30-2006 03:00 PM

they got caught with the "spywaregate" so it came back to bite them

geRV 10-30-2006 03:12 PM

They got fucked over with the rootkit, they got fucked over with the dodgy laptop batteries now thyre fucking themselves over by trying to get a succesfull format out for a change so theyre slamming bluray into ps3 in the hopes it'll sell as well as ps2.

Good luck, saying theyre gonna need it is an understatement, people already know what dvd is all about, and High Definition (HD) has been the buzzword around tv's etc for a couple of years now so most people are clued into the fact it gives you a better picture, so saying people will understand what HD-dvd means isn't too much of a stretch. Hd and dvd has name recognition by consumers, now enter something called blu-ray, most people will be wondering wtf is that, and im not suprised.

And speaking of hypestation 3

GG sony, was 100k units in japan at launch and they can't even deliver that so scratch 20k units off that. This is shaping up to be the worst launch ever for a console. oOo:

Screw HD. It's something like 20% better rez for $4000 worth of stuff.

Well if you have a 360 you can buy one for $199 soon, hardly breaking the bank by any stretch of the imagination. Obviously standalone players cost more but they'll come down in price soon enough.

I tell ya what though, we have a bluray player setup on a samsung HDTV, and its absolutley gorgeous, clearest picture i have ever seen. But then they do the split screen shot showing it in comparison to regular DVD format, and the picture is so blurry, which is bull shit because if dvds were as blurry as they portray it no one would own one.

Its amazing though how many people will take that obvious pr bs as fact and end up getting one. I really don't know why ANYONE would want a sony format because they never do well, the only one that done decently was minidisc against digital tapes, it then got raped by mp3 players.

You never get true HD unless the film was filmed in HD, Processed properly, Stored on proper media, and delivered and played on HD compoentns/TV's.

The biggest scam out on the market right now is Digital cable itself, the problem is if even 1 out of the 5 mentioned above are not true, then you are not getting "HD".

HaVoc 10-30-2006 03:45 PM

Yeah but digital cable is the only way I'm getting IFC and G4. I don't give a shit about the rez.

Milla 10-30-2006 04:04 PM

The resolution is much better on digital than analog resolution though, you can see the difference on lets say for instants G4 or Discovery medical than you would see on your basic channels such as MTV and Fox

Their stock has been up for the past week, aka: this was entirely in line with expectations, or better...

[quote:ac51b]The executive also expressed apparent befuddlement about some gamers' anger that the PS3 launch was pushed back to March 2007 in Europe. "I think the idea of worrying about a delay in PlayStation is slightly strange to me," said Stringer. "Every complex technology runs the risk of delays."[/quote:ac51b]

Yes, yes it does... But the fact that it will be out everywhere else in the world in fucking November 2006 would indicate that the product is done. What more technology is going into the UK one that warrents a delay. There rightfully pissed off.
