Back to Cook Arguement.
Incase anybody wants to know what other people think.
[url:55262]http://www.comcast.net/tv/index.jsp?cat=TELEVISION&fn=/2006/11/09/517483.html[/url:55262] I saw this and jus thought i'd drop it here...maybe start the arguement again. [quote:55262]"Where are the ... jokes?" wrote Rolling Stone. "How can any comedian get this famous with no jokes?"[/quote:55262] The more i see criticism, the more i do realize how insanely quick of a road to success he took...and how alotta of the stuff we laugh at isnt the jokes he tells, i if they exist, ...but still, i think hes funny. DEBATE: |
Rolling Stone is a fucking fag mag

Insanely quick? eek: Thats like calling Jim Carrey or Eddie Murphy's rise to fame "quick". The man has been doing standup since the early 90's - his stuff didnt really start getting him noticed until like 1998 or so. Cook is not some flash-in-the-pan comic. . .hes been around awhile.
I think what people have a problem with (thats the "professional" comics) is that here is a guy who has carved a career out of telling jokes the rest of us tell each other when were drunk and high. Also the whole "Oh hes a comic for MySpace" - yea no fucking shit. The guys like 30 years old. If MATT STONE and TREY PARKER were doing standup - I garauntee it would sound like this. |
