Pachelbel Rant
|
wow, that is really scary. We just talked about this today in theory class. Yeah it is funny. biggrin:
Go PSU. ps. I was there. The guy was hilarious. |
Thats fkd up, now all the songs I listen to will have pachelbel too oOo:
|
LOL ya. I was talking to somebody just last week about music, and I mentioned the fact that pretty much all music uses Canon in D to some extent. A lot of mainstream rap music uses the same progression.
|
A lot of those were transposed. Same progression but totally different tones to each of the songs.

It's a falling third progression with inserted chords.
I - V - vi - iii - IV - I - IV - V - (I) |
Thats pretty funny. I play guitar (drums in my band) But dont know much about theory wish I knew it though.

Music theory isn't my strong suit either...heh heh.
Speaking of songs that sound alike, I was listening to "Jesus of Suburbia" by Green Day a while ago (don't ask me why, I can't tell you) and I noticed a familiar progression. Then it dawned on me..."That's fucking 'On With The Show' by Motley Crue!" I slapped in the "Too Fast for Love" CD and sure enough, the opening riff progression is almost identical to that part in "Jesus...". Fucking leeches. |

Just like back in the 70's all bands use to do is play each other's songs hah. |
True, but this was so blatant! The melody was identical.
If I was in Green Day, I'd do a Jesus of Suburbia/On With The Show medley. biggrin: |
