Sure it looks great, but it still looks very cartoonish to me. Like you can tell you're looking at a video game when you see it. Compare that to MLB 2k7. When I was walking through the mall I caught that game in the corner of my eye and I thought for a moment it was a real baseball game. I don't think this game would make you think you're watching a live motion picture film instead of a video game upon first glance.

For sports games thats easier to acheive, they have a fixed amount of models viewable at any one time, shorter drawdistance etc. Its easier to pump out a bigger level of detail when you have only a certain amount of things in the scene at one time and not too many graphical effects going on. Even a few years back seeing people play fifa or something, from a distance you would think it was a football game being shown on tv. The fact that sports on tv usually only have a few select camera angles you see it from also helps make the game look more real.

True. Not to say Crysis isn't hardcore, because it is, but it just seems like the colors are too bright, or the people don't really look right, it's just not as photo-realistic as it could be.

Isn't it just a game after all?

Realistic sports games are never that great because only art assets change and adding new teams with some tweaking to AI. Otherwise, the sport never changes so the game play is always the same.

I can't see shit!

edit: Wow that looks insane.

You think my 1.8g processor with 512 ram and a 128 graphics card will run that?

geRV 04-06-2007 04:57 PM

Nope, well maybe on settings so low that'll make the game look like pacman. Far as im aware you'll NEED a dx9 compliant graphics card so thats pretty much geforce fx radeon 9700 series at the slowest end of the scale.

Building a new rig just to run this game properly

Core 2 Duo e6600
2 gigs of high end mushkin ram
BFG 8800 (factory overclocked)
all slapped on a nice mid/high range mobo from MSI

I still fully expect i'll have to SLI another 8800 and oc the processor to run this game at what i expect it to be.

Parts are in the mail as i type.
