Help With Itunes....

Well Kinda.....

I had a virus on my computer I believe, and what it did was wipe out half of my music library(which is a lot).

I had bought some music off itunes a long time ago, havent done it in a while but the point is I lost music I actually paid for.

So almost all my music is gone except bands A-G.....and I was wondering if there is a area on my computer the songs are at that I dont know of. Some lady came into my work and I talked to her and she was a apple tech...and she said something like "its in the shell of the itunes blah blah blah" pretty much shit I didnt understand. Anyone have any idea?

Uhm, my music is in my documents>itunes>my music>itunes music etc etc...However, if your saying you've deleted them completely, then no, Apple does not keep a record of what you've bought/cant restore what you have bought I believe..and I don't know if theres any secret folder for the purchased music..

it warns you when you buy it off itunes that they dont back anything up, and that you should back it up yourself. so basically, all the music you bought is gone...sucks, man.

Well I didn't buy much, but I bought a couple albums. More concerned about the "other" music I had on my computer. Where I had all my music it still has the folders, but all the music in the folders are gone...

I had no idea what the lady was talking about, I thought she was talking out of her ass but whatever.

If you have the songs on your iPod, you can extract them out using a program called iPod Access, think it goes for $20 or something.

You just couldn't rip them off the ipod without the program?

Nah, Apple hasn't realized how useful that would be.

Of course you can go in. There is a hidden folder on you iPod with your music on it. The problem is, is the music gets renamed, and seperated into multiple folders (to discourage just taking the music off). But its still there. There are programs (like the no longer made Ephod) that will allow you to just rip music from the iPod. Do a google for it. But I dont know about music bought from iTunes - so youre on your own if it plays normally. Im sure there are some DRM-unwrappers out there.
