valve hacked..again
Seems a Russian hacker got into their server and was able to grab stuff of it, what id love to know is how can a company that owns half life, counter strike team fortress dod etc be worth only 9million or so?
The tool that hacked it is threatening to release cc info online, dunno if this is info for just cyber cafes or anyone at all who bought stuff on steam. eek: |
yea i already cancelled my cc luckily as i bought alot of shit off steam in last few months. the_finger:
heres the tosser that posted all the shit http://emp.damage-web.net/viewtopic.php?p=62590 |
According to that thread they have all the cc info for regular people not just cyber cafes. Dunno why this little cock is getting such a hard on over it either. Also love to know why the fuck valve keep that info on a server that can be accessed online. oOo:
This was supposodly done on april 8th of this month, wonder why we're just hearing of it now. |
I guess Anti-Steam is serious bizznas?
So you said he has the credit card numbers of everyone who has ever purchased anything off Steam since it's creation? |
For a small company like VALVE, I'd say a net worth of nearly 10MIL is pretty impressive. Its not like the license their intel. property to outside sources to increase revenue flow.

yea but think of all the publishers now that put their games through steam, valve must see some of that action. |
And i think i recall reading that halflife 2 cost something around $30.000.000 to create. Mainly due to the theft of the pre-alpha of the game and supposodly a lot of content had to be redone.
|
wonderful. will have to see what cc i used on steam. I think I canceled one, so i might be ok. still, not really cool that all my info is floating around out there. guess it is anyway.

I think the licensed there halflife 2 physics engine to age of empires 3. |
people need to get lives.
|
I bought DOD:Source in October of 2006 from steam. Do you think I should cancel my CC?
|
it doesnt hurt to, i needed a shiny new card.
|
It's probably best to just cancel your card now to spare yourself any possibly bullshit later on.
|
Valve didn't get hacked, the company that handles the cafe licenses did, hence why the 9 million... would be kind of low for Valve.
