America loses another WW2 vet
I posted this in 92bengals but I think it deserves some life here.
This morning my grandfather who lived through the great depression and fought through WW2 died. He was 84 years old. When I get home I'll go scan some war pictures of him, I think they're pretty neat. RIP GRAMPS! cry: |

my deepest condolences dude, that sucks...Its really sad seeing such a great generation slowly passing away.

Sorry to read about your grandpa, My father drove landing crafts in the pacific during WW2, Special breed of men, Thats for sure. RIP to your grandpa and my father.

RIP, dude. Sorry for your loss. My grandparents are a little to young for WWII (just barely) but I can't imagine losing them anyway.

He drove trucks for the red ball express and from what he told me landed in Normandy like 5 days after d-day. Once told me he stole a car from a french guy happy:
His quality of life has been deteriorating over the years and wherever he is now, I'm sure its a lot better. |
