Holy Speeding tickets

http://www.abcnews.go.com/WN/story?id=3335562&page=1

"Traffic fines in the state are set to rise dramatically, ranging from the $750 fine for driving without a license to the eyebrow raising $1,050 speeding ticket."

Fucking sickening. A speeding ticket is now going to ruin somebody's year if they have to pay $1,050.

Nyck 07-04-2007 12:12 PM

tell that to the person who has their life ruined when a family member is killed be cause some dipshit is doing 70 in a 50

Proteus 07-04-2007 12:14 PM

70 in a 50 is absolutely nothing. The speed limits should be raised with the advancements and in safety and design, they just keep them that low to gain tons of money in taxes because they can't find any other way to legally steal citizens money.

stick to rolling on the floor with dudes.

TonyMontana 07-04-2007 12:24 PM

whoever thinks a 1500$ fine is bad for speeding, you should see what they do in toronto if they catch anyone racing.

they destroy your car.

You call that harsh ? Come to Ontario here in Canada. Things have just gotten out of fucking hand in the past 4 months. JUST rediculous.

Zoner 07-04-2007 01:26 PM

If you don't break the law (like me) you have nothing to worry about.

9mm BeRetTa 07-04-2007 02:05 PM

Out of curiosity what are the speed limits on everyone's local highways?

Near me the limits seem to all be around 55mph.

ninty 07-04-2007 02:21 PM

$1,000 speeding ticket seems ridiculous to me.

I was doing 27kph over on my way to BC and the ticket was $175

Speed limits:
Inside city 80kmh/50mph
Outside city 110kmh/68mph

I have heard Ontario wanted to smash cars of "suspected" racers. That would be BS in my opinion. You need to catch someone doing a crime before you can punish them. The car would need to be illegal or they would need to be caught doing an illegal act.

Pyro 07-04-2007 02:35 PM

i don't care...wherever the speeding limit is 60 here (KM/h) it should be at least 70...even 80...like come on if you can't drive that "fast" you shouldn't even have a license...

Proteus 07-04-2007 02:36 PM

To destroy somebody's property is cruel and unusual to begin with.

Is anybody else hammered already?

MadMan 07-04-2007 04:25 PM

got busted doing 60mph in a 45mph zone,
cost me $350.00 USD. to pay it,
if I had taken Traffic school it would have only been a meer $340.00 oOo:

Milla 07-04-2007 08:44 PM

How about 350 for a failure to use correct signal in VA?
