OFFICIAL music recommendation thread

I figured we could each share some music we love with everyone...and maybe someone else will fall in love with it too. Only one genre of music per post.

Acoustic

XO
Either or
Figure 8

Jack Johnson
In between dreams
On and on

Bob Dylan
Essential Bob Dylan
The Times They Are A-Changin'
Highway 61 Revisited

Hopefully this thread will deliver.

i've been obsessed with this genre as of late.. so fucking underrated it hurts, TONS of music has branched off from it, including new wave, gothic, industrial, dream pop, shoegaze, indie.. pretty much laid the groundwork of music today

flipper sucks.
but joy division, wire, and mission of burma are awesome

i've been really into the whole 80's indie movement (independent labels, not assholes in cumberbunds playing one note a minute)

Minutemen's Double Nickles on the Dime

Sonic Youth's Daydream Nation

Dinosaur Jr's Where You Been

Embrace's selftitled (Ian MacKaye's Embrace, not the shitty new band named Embrace)

Fugazi...everything by them, but mostly 13 Songs and Repeater

Big Black's The Hammer Party

anything Black Flag

mostly stuff featured in Our Band Could Be Your Life

strvs 07-17-2007 04:17 PM

the fall > most

Tripper 07-17-2007 04:20 PM

More post/punk

Gang Of Four
U2 (War/Boy/October)
