Autocross
Does anyone here/has anyone here autocross? I just went on Saturday night for the first time with a bunch of people from http://www.350zen.org. Lots of fun, started out at 7PM and I didn't get to run until about 10 when the 3rd run group started. If anyone is interested, here is my best run and the last run I did, I have 4 more vids I just haven't put them up yet.
http://teamwf.com/downloads/autocrossrun5.wmv I also have a bunch of pics I took, I'll post them later. I had so much fun, I think I found my new favorite sport... Time to find a set of track tires/wheels happy: |

man i remember that argument. fun times. not bad himmler, still needs a bit of practice but given your past mentality towards your car, i'm impressed. |
It was my first time, hopefully I'll be going to the next one at the end of September. I can do better
|
I need to take mine to an auto cross event. Subaru is actually sponsoring a huge one up in DC, something like a few hundred Subarus from Legacys to WRX's showed up, thats coming up in September.
|
Suby's do great in Auto-x. The fastest car was a evo that was all stock except for an exhaust. The guy was a fucking insane driver, got a 43 something second time.
|
That's awesome, looks like fun.
Do you do this often...the one concern I'd have would be constantly pushing my daily driver to the max... |

This was the first time I've ever done it, but once isn't bad on your tires at all. Its actually hardly any wear on your brakes, I only had ABS engage once when my foot slipped off the brake, lol. The tires it can wear if you do it a lot, thats why I am currently looking for a set of track tires/wheels. I think I found some for a good price too.

Had my new dual piston 12' Brakes installed, and opting for my 11' rear's soon to replace my antique drums, :). Then ill be off to Shannonville, and TMP next season :).

j bodies suck[/quote:100c4] Not when you Convert the rear torsion bar/axle to a N-body IRS swap. :). Weight distribution isn't that bad either. Front and rear strut braces + my rear FE3 rear Sway bar, front 20mm sway bar, Koni Yellow Struts, Eibach sport lines, Solid Strut Mounts, Poly Urethane Bushings, Aluminum front control arms, mated with some nice Z rated rubbers makes for a great FWD drive car, with under steer comparable to a Integra Type R. :). I have found that when it comes to FWD cars, they pretty much all suck, so until Insurance allows me to own something different, I am stuck with her :). |
